Shirley Ann Schwart Rodgers

Shirley Ann Schwartz Rodgers, 78, of Katherine Street, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born September 21, 1934 in Frederick, Maryland a daughter of the late Holden S. and Mary (Hanks) Felton. She married Robert Rodgers, Jr. on November 21, 1982, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Rodgers was a secretary for the FBI, Remacor and First Seneca Bank. She was a long time volunteer with hospice and a member of Job's Daughters'/Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two children, Rev. Thomas W. Schwartz and his wife Kim of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Mary 'Becky' Schwartz Richard of New Castle, three sisters, Betty Miller, Nancy Humm, and Janet Hoke all of Frederick, MD, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Independent Methodist Church, 1921 New Butler Road, on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at Independent Methodist Church. Rev. Frederick Gilbert of Independent Methodist Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in the Oak Park Cemetery.
