Samuel T. Dematteo

Samuel T. DeMatteo, 78, of W. Washington Street, died December 30, 2012. Sam was born July 8, 1936 in New Castle, a son of the late Sante and Angeline (Massuci) DiMatteo. Mr. DeMatteo was owner and operator of the Sun Grill on W. Washington Street for the past 23 years and was co-owner of the Central Lunch for a number of years. Sam was an aerial photographer and a painter.
He is survived by five children, Debbie Gettles, Cheryl Turpen, Samuel DeMatteo, Thomas DeMatteo and Steve DeMatteo all of Columbus, OH and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Phillip DeMatteo, two brothers, Joseph and Russell A. DeMatteo, Sr., and a sister, Mary Latess.
A private funeral service was held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
