Ida R. Chirozzi, 91, of Delaware Avenue, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Jameson Care Center in New Castle. She was born November 25, 1921 in Farrell, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Kish) Varro. She was married to the late Michael Chirozzi who died March 1987. Mrs. Chirozzi was co-owner and operator with her husband of Capital Radio Shop in New Castle for almost 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, playing scrabble and doing arts and crafts. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center and Challenges.
She is survived by two children, Charles Chirozzi and his wife Lucille of New Castle, and Ida Rose Ostrowski and her husband Robert of Williamsburg, VA, one brother, Charles Varro of Cleveland, OH, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Daniel, and John Varro, and one sister, Emma Scott.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Epworth Methodist Church. Rev. Tom Scott of Epworth Methodist Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
