Alvin F. Parasida, 84, of Kahl Avenue, Mt. Jackson, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born May 20, 1928 in Ford City, PA the son of the late Ignuts and Daisey Parasida. He married Maria (Stone) Parasida on July 29, 1996, she survives in Mt. Jackson. Mr. Parasida was a mechanic for various paving companies in the area for many years. He was well known for his expertise. He also enjoyed fixing transmissions and had his own transmission shop in Beaver Falls for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Steelers fan.

He is survived by four children, Sandy Cable of New Castle, Esther Parasida of Las Vegas, NV, Alvin Parasida of Butler, PA, and John Parasida of New Castle, one step-son, Dennis Claroni, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Santilli, and his 1st wife Ida R. (Rae) Parasida.

Private funeral services will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
