Mary R. Cioffi

Mary R. Cioffi, 87, of N. Vine St., New Castle, died Friday morning, March 14, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born July 23, 1920 in Carbone, Italy a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Pallott) Querriera. She was married to Anthony F. Cioffi on July 29, 1939. He survives in New Castle. Mrs. Cioffi was a homemaker and a member of the St. Vitus Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild of St. Vitus and the South Hills Athletic Club. Mrs. Cioffi was a Republican Committee Woman for many years. She loved to play cards, cooking and baking

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, two daughters, Jean M. Conti and her husband Richard, Sr. of New Castle, PA, and Sandra L. Burgo and her husband Ray of New Castle, PA, one son, Larry J. Cioffi and his wife Betty of New Castle, PA, three brothers, William Querriera and Frank Querriera both of New Castle, PA, and James Querriera of West Covina, CA, one sister, Josephine DeMatteis of New Castle, PA, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Antoinette Cefalo and Roseann McCree, two grandchildren, Mary Beth Conti and Larry J. Cioffi, Jr. and one great granddaughter, Gianna E. Cioppa.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
