James V. Zarilla

James V. Zarilla, Sr., 80, of Edison Manor, formerly of N. Mercer St., New Castle, died Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born March 21, 1927 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Palmeri) Zarilla. He married Elizabeth (Elari) Zarilla on June 28, 1947, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Zarilla was a self-employed General Contractor for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Zarilla was a member of the St. Camillus Church, the Wolves Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Rinaszenza Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his grancdhilren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one daughter, Carla Hackett of Wampum, PA, one son, Michael Zarilla of Beaver Falls, PA, one brother, Albert ‘Zeke’ Zarilla of New Castle, PA, one sister, Clara Moraldi of New Castle, PA and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, one son, James V. Zarilla, Jr., and two brothers, Peter Zarilla and Ernie Zarilla.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 5pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Camillus Church. Father Phil Farrell of St. Camillus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
