Anthony Cavallo

Anthony Cavallo, Sr., 68, of E. Edgewood Ave., New Castle, died Sunday evening, March 23, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born November 23, 1939 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Sam and Antionett (Osso) Cavallo. He was married to Susan A. (DeCaprio) Cavallo on April 28, 1962, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Cavallo retired from the New Castle Foundry after 14 years as a Grinder. He also worked for the Crane Co./Penntex for 17 years and part-time for G.R. Gardner and Sons Roofing for 20 years. Mr. Cavallo was a member of the Army National Guard for 20 years serving as a Sergeant with Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 229th Field Artillery. He was a member of the St. Vitus Church and enjoyed meeting his friends at various local restaurants and donut shops.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, three sons, Anthony Cavallo, Jr. and Ralph N. Cavallo both of New Castle, PA, and John P. Cavallo and his wife Crystal of Reynoldsburg, OH, two brothers, Sam Cavallo, Jr. of Aliquippa, PA and Louis Cavallo of New Castle, PA, five sisters, Rose Hookway, Mary Augustine, and Carol Jones all of New Castle, PA, Louise Watson of Mercer, PA, and Delores Perine of Sterling, VA, one granddaughter, Brooke Ariel Cavallo of Reynoldsburg, OH and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, one son Brian Cavallo, and one sister, Virginia Shaw.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
