Donald B. 'Ducky' Conti, Sr.

Donald B. ‘Ducky’ Conti, Sr., 79, of Anne Drive, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his home in New Castle. He was born August 11, 1933 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Anthony and Alice (Simpson) Conti. Mr. Conti worked in the Mold Shop of Shenango China for 32 years. He is an avid Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Notre Dame Club and St. Vitus Church. He was a former bus driver for George Ku & Zona Busing for many years and was a custodian at Laurel Schools for 7 years. He will be sadly missed by his beloved dog Crackers.

He is survived by his companion, Sandra L. Bobosky of New Castle, three sons, Donald ‘Ducky’ Conti, Jr. of New Castle, Anthony Conti and his wife Lyndora of New Castle, and Mike Dean and his wife Cheryl of Avon, OH, and his former wife, Rose (Costa) Conti of New Castle, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his seven brothers, Albert 'Jabby' Conti, Anthony 'DoDo' Conti, Thomas Conti, Louis Conti, Carmen 'Pappy' Conti, Fred ‘Fritzy’ Conti, and Richard 'Dickie' Conti, and four sisters, Maggie Sinibaldi, Clara Louis, Emma Myers, and Louise Louis.


Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
