Viola L. Benegasi Quear

Viola L. Benegasi Quear, 91, of Meadowview Boulevard, New Castle, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at her home in New Castle. She was born April 17, 1922 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Virgil and Josephine (Palmieri) Apostolico. She was married to the late Frank Benegasi who died in 1977. She was then married to the late Howard Quear who died in 2010. Mrs. Quear was a teachers’ aide for the New Castle School System at Lockley School retiring after many years. She was a Democratic Committee Woman for the 4th Ward for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by three children, Anthony Benegasi and his wife Joyce of New Castle, Bernadette Staph and her husband Jack of Moreland Hills, OH, and Frank Benegasi, Jr. and his wife Michal of Willmington, NC, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Virgil Apostolico, and one sister, Ann Cercelli.



Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Bill Siple of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
