Edward H. Chiarini, 79, of E. Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle, PA, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2008 at his home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born June 20, 1928 in Moo Ween, Pennsylvania a son of the late Thomas and Lucy (Conto) Chiarini. He married Shirley (Davis) Chiarini on May 19, 1953. She survives in New Castle. Mr. Chiarini was a Conductor on the B & O Railroad retiring after 44 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving with the 5th Infantry Division. He received the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart for his service. Mr. Chiarini was a former member of the Sons of Italy and the American Legion and was a member of the United Transportation Union. He enjoyed golfing and was an Umpire for Lawrence County Baseball for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and took pride in his 8 foot high Hibiscus plants. Mr. Chiarini loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, three daughters, Rhnee Jenkins and her husband Timothy and Marcella Jones and her husband Franklin Busch, both of New Castle, PA, and Christine Bangor and her husband Richard of East Liverpool, OH, three brothers, Lawrence Chiarini of Virginia, Eugene Chiarini and Leonard Chiarini, both of New Castle, PA, one sister, Betty Walker of Bakerfield, CA, nine grandchildren, Adrian Amabile, Kylee Criss, Leigh-Ann McKee, Steven Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Lindsey Jones, Christopher Jones, Zachary Bangor and Alexandra Bangor, and three great grandchildren, Nicolas Caputo, Gavin Criss and Gage Criss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Chiarini, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Chris Davis will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
