James Edward Delozier

James Edward DeLozier, 86, of Vogan St., New Castle, died Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born November 16, 1921 in Coupon, Pennsylvania a son of the late Warren and Matilda (Holmberg) DeLozier. He was married to Helen (Mandichak) Michaelangelo DeLozier on May 7, 1983, she survives in New Castle. Mr. DeLozier retired after 42 years as an Operations Supervisor for AT&T. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe with the 5th Infantry 71st Division. Mr. DeLozier was a member of the VFW Post #315 and an automobile enthusiast, he also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one daughter, Deanna L. Buttray of Meadville, PA, one son, Daniel E. DeLozier and his wife Karen of New Castle, PA, two step-sons, Ronald Michaelangelo of Chicago, IL and Robert Michaelangelo of Cleveland, OH, one step-daughter, Linda Quinn and her husband Donald of New Castle, PA, two sisters, Gladys Waksmonski of Colfax, DE, and Jean Adams of Coupon, PA, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by, his 1st wife, Mary (Petyak) DeLozier, his step-son Dennis Michaelangelo, his brother Paul DeLozier, and his sister Catherine Ball.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave., New Castle, on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
