Dorothy C. Kennedy

Dorothy C. Kennedy, 78, of Haven Convalescent Home, formerly of McClelland Ave., Union Twp., died Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008 at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born October 17, 1929 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late John and Thelma (Brewer) Cornelius. She married James C. Kennedy on August 12, 1978, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Kennedy was a finisher at Shenango China retiring after 40 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, John W. Rice and William A. Rice both of New Castle, PA, three daughters, Karen Hoover of Witheville, VA, Kathy Bunnell of New Castle, PA, and Becky Corcoran of Punta Gorda, FL, one brother, Alvin Cornelius of Ellwood City, PA, one sister, Karen L. Book of Edinburg, PA, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William Cornelius, her sister Mildred Allen, and her former husband William H. Rice.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 10am to 12pm.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Richard Nero of Southern Care Hospice will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
