James W. Hill

James W. Hill, 82, of Hill Avenue, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born July 22, 1931 in New Castle, a son of the late Ira and Cora (Glasser) Hill. Mr. Hill was a school teacher at Shenango Elementary School retiring after 35 years. He taught Social Studies and Writing. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Era. Mr. Hill was an avid hockey fan, he enjoyed growing flowers, feeding birds, watching TV, doing crossword puzzles and he enjoyed giving stuff away to others.
He is survived by one sister, Edna Schlemmer of New Castle, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, Kenneth, LeRoy, and Ira Joseph Hill, and two sisters, Belle Miller and Helen Van Horn.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Hockenberry of Harmony Baptist Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
