Mildred P. Hooks

Mildred P. Hooks, 84, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, died Monday afternoon, November 7, 2005 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born February 6, 1921 in Adrian, Pennsylvania the daughter of James and Persis (Brown) Leavens, they precede her in death. Mrs. Hooks was married to Roy L. Hooks who died September 19, 1977. Mrs. Hooks was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by 8 sons, Larry 'Bill' Hooks, James Hooks, Perry Hooks, Phillip 'Bud' Hooks, Joseph Hooks, Jon Hooks, and Jeffrey Hooks all of New Castle, PA, and Gary Hooks of Gladewater, TX, 3 daughters, Mildred 'Middy' Klingensmith, Janet Klingensmith, and Linda Heckathorne all of New Castle, PA, 1 brothers, Walter Leavens of Koppel, PA, 60 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Hooks, her brother Warren Leavens, and 3 sisters Dorothy Rose, Valma Stefura, and Orpha Bower and 2 grandsons.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday from 10am-12pm.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Wiseman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Montgomery Baptist Cemetery in Adrian, PA.
