Jay Adam Matteo

Jay Adam Matteo, 53, of Jackson Ave., New Castle, died Tuesday afternoon, May 13, 2008 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born June 2, 1954 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late John and Pauline (Antoszyk) Matteo. Mr. Matteo was owner and operator of General Awning Co. in New Castle for 23 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Matteo loved attending both of his sons sporting events and helped coach wrestling.

He is survived by two sons, Jay Donald Matteo and Vincent Anthony Matteo, both of New Castle, PA, his former wife, Valerie (Lelii) Matteo of New Castle, PA, two brothers, Harlan Matteo of New Castle, PA and Martin Matteo of Weatherford, TX, and one sister, Denise Fornataro of New Castle, PA.

He was preceded in death by his father John Matteo, and his mother Pauline Matteo.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Blessing services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 am at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Victor J. Molka, Jr. of Mary Mother of Hope Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
