James A. Kray, Sr., 68, of Ellwood Road, New Castle, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hosptial in Pittsburgh. He was born October 23, 1945 in New Castle, the son of the late Thelma Givley. He married Joyce I. (Cross) Kray on September 6, 2006, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Kray was the auto mechanic and small engine repair teacher at the YDC for over 20 years. He also worked at Agway for many years. Mr. Kray was the founder of the Tri State Country Music Association and a member of the Moose Club and American Legion. He was the lead singer in two bands, loved country music, played the steel guitar and other instruments and enjoyed restoring old cars.
He is survived by three children, James A. Kray, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Oil City, PA, Terry S. Kray and his wife Jamie of New Eagle, PA, and Dorothy A. Keener and her husband Josh of Ellwood City, PA, three step-sons, David Robinson and his wife Rhonda, William Robinson and his fiancé Tina Elmstrom, and Kevin Cross and his fiancé Erica Allwine, all of New Castle, twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will be officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to: CORE, 204 Sigma Dr., RIDC Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
