Norina DiSante, 84, of Vanadium Road, Bridgeville, PA, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Manor Care in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born August 26, 1929 in Martirano, Italy, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rosina (Cuda) Servedio. She was married to the late Thomas DiSante who died January 15, 1969. Mrs. DiSante was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She graduated from Mt. Sainai Nursing School in Philadelphia in 1953 and worked at the Jameson Memorial Hospital and Visiting Nurses Association of Lawrence County. She was known as a person who always put others needs ahead of her own. While working for the VNA she would often receive candy, fruit or vegetables from her patients in thanks for her hard and unselfish work. She would often receive phone calls in the evening from her elderly patients just to talk or get some reassurance about their care. Norina belongs to St. Vitus Church and was a Christian women who was kind, generous and loved God. She was a member of the New Castle Moose Club and served in many capacities in the club including treasurer. She also was a member of the Elks and VFW and enjoyed bingo and cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. DiSante and his wife Marilyn of McCandless, PA, and Richard M. DiSante and his wife Susan of Upper St. Clair, PA, two sisters, Jean DuSheid of Columbus, OH, and Anne Gross of Pittsburgh, PA, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Aldo Servedio, and one sister, Nicolina Renner.



Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
