Herman L. Wilson

Herman L. Wilson, 82, of South Crawford Avenue, New Castle, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born November 2, 1931 in New Castle, a son of the late John and Elsie (Robison) Wilson. He married Doris V. (Ingram) Wilson on November 3, 1950, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Wilson worked for Johnson Bronze and then retired after 25 years as a truck driver for City Cooperage Co. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by six children, Ronald L. Wilson of New Castle, Thomas E. Wilson of New Castle, Donald W. Wilson of New Castle, Sherry ‘Lynn’ Retort and her husband Donald of New Castle, Cindy L. Simon of New Castle, and Timothy A. Wilson of Arizona, two brothers, James and Walter Wilson of New Castle, nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Herman L. Wilson, Jr. and John W. Wilson, two brothers, Harry and Jack Wilson, and one sister, Helen Rice.



Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 11 AM to 12 PM.



Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating.
