Freida E. Rainier

Freida E. Rainier, 97, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, died Friday afternoon, November 18, 2005 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born August 13, 1908 in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania the daughter of Gilbert and Blanche (Wagner) Sweitzer, they precede her in death. She was married to Merrill C. Rainier who died in 1960. Mrs. Rainier was a senior member and very active in the Clen Moore United Presbyterian Church and was former Treasurer of the Berean School Class at the Church. She was a secretary at the New Castle IDS office for approximately 40 years and was a receptionist at Golden Hill Nursing Home for 20 years. Mrs. Rainier was a member of the Primetimers, the Jameson Hospital Junior Women Guild and a founding member of the New Castle Country Club.

She is survived by one son and his wife, King & Betty Rainier of Upper St. Clair, PA, 10 grandchildren, Rick Rainier, Rob Rainier, Leslie Rainier, Mark Rainier, Lynn McClatterty, Richard Rainier, Jon Trent, Lisa McCarthg, R.K. Rainier and Justin Rainier, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by, her son John 'Jack' Merrill Rainier, her daughter Joan Trent, and four sisters, Virginia Coffman, Margaret Boland, Edna Parry and Dorothy Morgan.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. James George of Clen Moore United Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
