Virginia C. Moyer

Virginia C. Moyer, 73, of Johns Street, New Castle, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She was born June 21, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Hughes) Meyers. She married Richard M. Moyer on January 28, 1956, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Moyer was a homemaker and a competitive walker with the Voltz Marcher, she received many medals for her walking. She also enjoyed bowling, knitting, making ceramics and cooking. Mrs. Moyer also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Richard F. Moyer and his wife Dori of New Castle, PA, Kathy L. Strickler and her husband Kevin of New Castle, PA, James W. Moyer and his wife Liz of New Castle, PA, David A. Moyer and his wife Esther of New Castle, PA, one step-son, Joseph Fusco and his wife Staicy of New Castle, PA, three sisters, Janet Calot of Connecticut, Loretta Labrie of Florida, and Theresa Italiano of Youngstown, OH.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank J. ‘Sonny’ Meyers.



Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.



Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Wiseman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
