Cynthia A. Tomasovich

Cynthia A. Tomasovich, 61, of Ellwood Road, New Castle, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born March 30, 1952 in New Castle, a daughter of John and Dorothy (Duda) Dzemyan, her parents survive in New Castle. She married Thomas Tomasovich on April 1, 1978, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Tomasovich worked in the records department for Lawrence County Corrections for 13 years. Prior to that she was the former owner and operator of Center United Presbyterian Church Pre-School. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock State University with a degree in Teaching. Mrs. Tomasovich enjoyed flower gardening, the outdoors, hiking and reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by three children, Alexis Marie LaFuria and her husband Francesco of McCandless, PA, James P. Tomasovich and his wife Julie of Highland, MI, and Michael T. Tomasovich of New Castle, two brothers, John Dzemyan of Smethport, PA, and Daniel Dzemyan of New Castle, one sister, Patricia Lockley of New Castle, and three grandchildren, Isaac and Max LaFuria and James Tomasovich.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Nick Vaskov of St. Vincent de Paul Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
