Philip A. Pizzitola, 76, of Edgewater Pines Dr., Warren, OH, formerly of New Castle, died Thursday evening, June 26, 2008 at North Side Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He was born March 11, 1932 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Veto and Josephine (Giordano) Pizzitola. He was married to Thelma (Macarella) Pizzitola who died on June 24, 1988. Mr. Pizzitola was an Electrician and Maintenance Supervisor at the Crane Co. and Penntex for 25 years. He also was an Electrical Teacher at the New Castle School of Trades for many years. Mr. Pizzitola was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one son, Philip A. Pizzitola, II of Boardman, OH, and two sisters, Lucy DeCaprio of New Castle, PA, and Louise Yerage of Ogden, UT.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jo Pizzitola, one brother, Joseph Pizzitola, and one sister, Ida Ross.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, 2008 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Blessing services will be held Monday, June 30, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home.
