Allena F. Carney

Allena F. Carney, 84, of Grandview Ave., New Castle, died Friday morning, July 4, 2008 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born October 12, 1923 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Edward and Goldie (Fisher) Hollingsworth. Mrs. Carney was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God on Highland Avenue. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of many local bowling leagues and also enjoyed gardening and painting.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol A. Davies, Barbara L. Peterson, and Debra Palladino, all of New Castle, PA, one son, Robert J. Wilkins of Hermitage, PA, one sister, Alberta Wright of Bethalto, IL, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, William, James, and Harold Hollingsworth, and one sister, Alvina Van Arsdale.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Ronald Mounts of Church of God will be officiating. Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood City. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
