Rachel J. Albert

Rachel J. Albert, 88, of Haven Nursing Home, formerly of East Reynolds Street, New Castle, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at Haven Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born June 28, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Tony and Mary (Mamary) Jacobs. Mrs. Albert worked at the National Pants Factory for 7 years and was a clerk at Strouses' for 5 years. She was a member of St. Elias Orthodox Church and she loved her church. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, especially her great grandson, Deandre. Mrs. Albert was a warm and loving person who was always ready to help everyone.

She is survived by two children, Randy Lee Albert of New Castle, and Renee Lisa Alberico and her husband Marco of New Castle, one sister, Virginia Nader of Cleveland, OH, three grandchildren, Lisa Falba and her husband Gary, Rachel Alberico and Christopher Albert, one great grandson, Deandre Alberico, one step great granddaughter, Alison Falba and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Fred Jacobs, and five sisters, Vivian Jacobs, Rose Slaby, Freda Deep, Elizabeth Kelly, and Bryan.

Visitation will be held at St. Elias Orthodox Church, Lynn Street, on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elias Orthodox Church. Arch Priest Kevin Gregory Long of St. Elias Orthodox Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
