Lorraine F. ‘Lorrie’ Johnson, 86, of Amoret, MO, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born July 15, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Leo and Mildred (Stanley) Greeley. She was married to Kirby H. Johnson for 40 years, he survives in Amoret, MO. Mrs. Johnson was a waitress at Alameda Naval Air Station in the Officers Club for many years. She then wrote for the Butler News in Butler, MO for over 30 years. She was a member of Amoret Christian Church and was very active in the Church. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed handcrafting Christmas Ornaments out of plastic, needlepoint and baking for friends and family. She will always be remembered as a very loving person.
She is survived by five children, Sharon Johnson of New Castle, Lori Marie Norris of Oregon, Donna Johnson of Missouri, Richard Johnson of Missouri, and David Johnson of Missouri, three sisters, Shriley Spry,June Yakabowicz, and Carol Sullivan, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Johnson, three brothers, Stanley, James, and Leo Greeley, Jr., two sisters, Marilyn Martin, and Mildred Gustin, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 3 PM to 5 PM.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Shannon Westerman of Cornerstone Community Church will be officiating.
