Joanne I. Cook

Joanne I. Cook, 71, of Dewey Ave., New Castle, died Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008 at her residence in New Castle. She was born May 21, 1937 in Everett, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Marshall and Mildred (Weicht) Beegle. She was married to Trevor R. Johns who died on January 14, 1967. She was then married to Norm Cook who died on November 6, 1997. Mrs. Cook was a custodian for the New Castle Area School District retiring after 23 years. She was an active member of the Church of Genesis and a volunteer for Jameson Hospice and Adult Literacy. Mrs. Cook enjoyed volunteer work and doing for others.

She is survived by two daughters, Jodi J. Barker and Darci L. Wynn and her husband Robert, both of New Castle, PA, her twin sister, Joyce Beegle of Las Vegas, NV, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Trevor Johns, and two sisters, Margaret Markle and Dorothy May.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00 am at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Craig Cole of Church of Genesis will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Parkside Cemetery.
