Josephine DeLorenzo, 88, of New Castle, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born June 28, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Caesar ‘Cecil’ and Amelia (Baldasare) Petrilli. She was married to the late Deno DeLorenzo on May 23, 1947, he died April 30, 2002. Mrs. DeLorenzo graduated from New Castle Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. She worked at both St. Francis and Jameson Memorial Hospitals as a nurse in the maternity ward. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Wolves Club Women Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Women Auxiliary. For her nursing service, she was a volunteer member of the American Red Cross. Mrs. DeLorenzo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by four children, David DeLorenzo and his wife Lynn of Moon Twp., PA, Dr. Gary DeLorenzo and his wife Patrice of Monroeville, PA, Mary Ann Morocco and her husband Tony of Greentree, PA, and Deno DeLorenzo of New Castle, one daughter-in-law, Gloria DeLorenzo of Boardman, OH, one sister, Helen Call of New Castle, eleven grandchildren, Michael DeLorenzo and wife Julie, Marc DeLorenzo and wife Kherry, David DeLorenzo, Andrea DeLorenzo, Lisa and Jon DeLorenzo, Dian and Anthony Morocco, Deno, Anthony and Matthew DeLorenzo, and four great grandchildren, Jason, Maria, Marissa and Morgan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald DeLorenzo, three brothers, Angelo, Joseph, and Frank Petrilli, and three sisters, Lillian Humphrey, Teresa Nocera, and Amelia D'Augostine.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Joseph G. Luisi will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the family who will donate it the various charities.
