Eugene C. Firmi

Eugene C. Firmi, 79, of Charlotte Lane, New Castle, died Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born November 21, 1928 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Frank) Firmi. He married Sally L. (Crisci) Firmi on August 6, 1955, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Firmi retired from Lockley Machine after many years. He was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War serving in Japan. He spent his retirement years coaching youth sports, both girls and boys for the North Hill Boosters and was an avid Red Hurricane Football Fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, three sons, Randall Firmi of Boardman, OH, Rodney Firmi and his wife Sherri and Ryan Firmi and his wife Aimee, both of New Castle, PA, one brother, Augustine Firmi of Boardman, OH, three sisters, Margaret Fiorelli of Highland Hts., OH, and Rosemarie D'Augostine and her husband Frank and Martha Cotelesse and her husband David both of New Castle, PA, two sister-in-laws, Betty Firmi and Rosina Chiaverini and her husband Anthony both of New Castle, and six grandchildren, Rodney II, Ryan M. Lauren, Kirsten, Brandon and Nolan and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Firmi, and two sisters, Anna Borrelli, and Viola Hamett.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 9:00 am at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Father Victor J. Molka, Jr. of Mary Mother of Hope Parish will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military funeral rites at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
