Louise Marie Scocchera DeCarbo, 69, of Mission Meade Road, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her residence in New Castle. She was born December 26, 1944 in New Castle a daughter of the late Louis and Allene (Agnew) Scocchera. She married Roger M. DeCarbo, Sr. on October 21, 2000, he survives in New Castle. She started working as a bookkeeper in 1975 at Golden Hill Nursing Home, then she became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and was administrator of Golden Hill until she retired in January of this year. She was also Secretary and Treasurer of Golden Hill Nursing Home, Inc. Louise was a former member of Clen Moore Presbyterian Church. She also loved her dogs Casey, Nadia and Morgue, who precede her in death. She loved spending time with her other dogs, Riley and Morguee, who she enjoyed cooking for, but called local restaurants her kitchen. Louise, surprisingly was very mechanically inclined and she enjoyed fixing many things herself.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two step-sons, Roger M. DeCarbo, Jr. and his wife Alissa of Cranberry Twp., PA and Dr. William T. DeCarbo of Pittsburgh, PA, one brother, Fred Scocchera and his wife Brenda of New Castle, two brother-in-law, Joseph P. Davis of Vienna, OH and William F. DeCarbo, Jr. and his wife Patty of New Castle, three step-grandchildren, Raquel, Roger Michael, and Ashley DeCarbo, and nieces and nephews, Angela M. Scocchera of New Castle, Jason M. Scocchera and his wife Stephanie of Cooper City, FL, Eric M. Scocchera of Vernon, CT, Kevin Davis and his wife Cyndi of Hermitage, PA, Shea McKelvey and her husband Don of Fowler, OH, Christina M. Presnar of New Castle, Steven J. Presnar of New Castle, and Willy DeCarbo of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean A. Davis.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 1 PM to 5 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Frederick Gilbert of Independent Methodist Church will officiate.
