Phyllis L. Turco

Phyllis L. Turco, 97, of Overlook Medical Center, New Wilmington, formerly of Riverside Apartments, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born April 7, 1917 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Louis and Lena (Richards) Gaspare. She was married to the late Theodore N. Turco who died March 6, 1974. Mrs. Turco was a Sales Clerk at Strouss' Department Store for 8 years. She was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary's 500 Card Club and the First Presbyterian Recreation Center. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and reading.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Mehalic of New Castle, and two grandsons, Mark Mehalic and Tina of New Castle, and Matthew Mehalic and his wife Rececca of Ellicott City, MD.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
Blessing services will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to Southern Care Hospice, 26 Nesbitt Road, Suite 153, New Castle, PA 16105.
