Ross E. ‘Eddie’ Paswell, 88, of E. Moody Ave., New Castle, died Tuesday morning, August 12, 2008 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born December 14, 1919 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (McKee) Paswell. Mr. Paswell was a self-employed landscaper for over 30 years. He was a World War II veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Paswell was also the founder and past president of IOU (Interest Opportunities & Understanding) which is a rehabilitation organization for ex-offenders.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Paswell of Colorado, Jaime Paswell of Edinburg, PA, and Arthur Paswell of Fall River, MA, six daughters, Emily DeNome, Lynn Jones, Lisa Kulinski, and Viola Seaburn, all of Ellwood City, PA, Sara Fernandez of Lowellville, OH, and Minnie Courtney of Wampum, PA, twenty-two grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Nolan, two brothers, George and Frank Paswell, and his former wife Marjorie E. (Dougal) Paswell.

A private funeral service will be held at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
