Anna C. Stanton, 92, of New Castle, formerly of Walter Street, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born June 16, 1921 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Gino and Emma (Feroni) Carra. She was married to the late James Stanton who died October 10, 1967. Mrs. Stanton was a secretary at McBride-Shannon Insurance Co. retiring after 30 years. She was an Army veteran of World War II serving with the Women's Army Corp. She was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Church, the Ladies Guild of the church and was active in the church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and yard work.

She is survived by one niece, Carole Lupo of New Castle, one nephew, James Million and his wife Dorothy of New Castle, and a number of great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Neal Carra, one sister, Angeline Million, and one nephew, Norman ‘Sonny’ Lupo.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Father Nick Vaskov of Mary Mother of Hope will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
