Joseph P. Farone, 81, of North Cedar Street, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Heritage Medical Center in Beaver, PA. He was born in New Castle on December 24, 1932, a son of the late James and Carrie (Fava) Farone. He married Mary (Burzachechi) Farone in 1953, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Farone worked for Augostine Heating, Plumbing, and Cooling Service, Universal Rundell in Maintenance retiring after 15 years and Challenges in maintenance. He was an avid bowler and played with the Wabash Bears bowling league, was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles Club, he loved to dance and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He also loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Andrea Bryant and her husband Richard of New Castle, Karen Carothers and her husband John of Girard, OH, Joseph Farone of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Leann Wilson and her husband Brian of New Castle, and Alissa Buelow and her husband Mark of Flemington, NJ, two sisters, Theresa Sweetapple and her husband Ed of New Castle and Maggie Hamilton of Pulaski, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marietta Farone, four brothers, George, Phillip, James, Jr. and Anthony Farone, and one sister, Louise Williams.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Church. Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church will officiate. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
