Dorothea ‘Dot’ Didiano, 84, of Blunston St., New Castle, died Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born October 18, 1923 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Louis and Clara (King) Pagley. She was married to Gregory A. Didiano, Sr., who died on April 4, 1998. Mrs. Didiano worked in the cafeteria for New Castle Area Schools retiring after 10 years. She also worked at the New Castle News placing inserts for 12 years. Mrs. Didiano was a translator for the deaf and she also was able to translate for blind and deaf persons using sign language and touch. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by one son, Gregory A. Didiano, Jr. and his wife Rose of Austintown, OH, one daughter, Bernadetta ‘Birdie’ Koginos and her husband Andrew of New Castle, PA, two brothers, Joseph and Louis Pagley both of New Castle, PA, three sisters, Guistina ‘Toots’ Todd of Shreveport, LA, and Mary Biedka and Joan Quinn both of New Castle, PA, four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Angelina Rose Pagley.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery
