Ida M. Amodie, 95, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Eastbrook Road, New Castle, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born December 24, 1918 in Franklin, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Nicholas and Nicolena (DeSalso) Rich. She was married to the late James Amodie who died in 1982. Mrs. Amodie was co-owner of the Gala Restaurant in New Castle and the owner of the Cup of Coffee Restaurant in New Castle. She also worked at a number of restaurants in the New Castle as a waitress. Mrs. Amodie also worked for a number of years at Rich & Freed Auto Parts.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Ralph, Louis, and Henry Rich, two sisters, Mary Freed and Flora Morgan, and a nephew, Alfred Freed, Jr..
Private Funeral Services were held at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Robert Strobel officiated. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
