V. Elaine George

V. Elaine George, 70, of 8th Street, New Castle, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born November 16, 1943 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Felimento and Julia (Innocenti) Sperdute. She was married to Victor J. George on June 19, 1965, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. George was a buyer for Brody's Women's Department Store of Oil City for 6 years. She was an avid professional wrestling fan and enjoyed traveling internationally. Mrs. George adored her family and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Lorie A. Pezzano and her husband Joseph of New Castle, three brothers, Felix, Aldo, and Romeo Sperdute all of New Castle, and two grandchildren, Francesca M. Pezzano and Joseph C. Pezzano.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and James Sperdute and one sister, Mary Ashton.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Nick Vaskov of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
