Victor Anthony Nerti

Victor Anthony Nerti, 83, of Logan Street, New Castle, died August 13, 2014 at his home in New Castle. He was born May 21, 1931 in Wampum, PA a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Cappatt) Nerti. He was married to Mary Ann (Meiter) Nerti on August 24, 1956, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Nerti was a steel worker retiring after 30 years at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, LTV, and J&L Mill. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Era. Mr. Nerti enjoyed family reunions and was very family oriented. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, four daughters, Carol DePaolo and her husband David of New Castle, Teresa Davano and her husband Carmen of West Middlesex, PA, Mary Dominick and her husband Scott of New Castle and Vickie Cain and her husband Brad of New Castle, one brother, Phil Nerti of Wampum, three sisters, Josephine Winter, Betty Miller, and Shirley Bessell all of West Pittsburg, and six grandchildren, Cassandra Dominick, Danielle DePaolo, Alexis, Victoria and Bradley Cain, and Rocco Davano.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joe and Pat Nerti, and four sisters, Mary Nerti, Rose Nerti, Jenny Stetler, and Theresa Mozzocio.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Father William Siple will officiate. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
