Frederick B. Widdowfield, 77, of Winslow Avenue, New Castle, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Jameson Care Center in New Caste. He was born March 8, 1937 in New Castle, the son of the late John and Florence (Stelter) Widdowfield. He was married to Louise M. (DeLisio) Widdowfield on June 2, 1962, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Widdowfield was a lifetime member of Wampum Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Wampum High School in 1955 and then attended Geneva College and graduated with a degree in Business in 1959. He worked for Citizens Bank in New Castle for 25 years as a Comptroller and then worked for Mellon Bank, and he retired from N.C.R. in 1989. His most cherished times were those spent with his family, children and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh, Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and enjoyed watching their games. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary and Jeffrey Widdowfield of New Castle, two daughters, Elaine Gordon and her husband David of Greensburg, PA and Judy Ryan and her husband Randy, Sr. of New Castle, and seven grandchildren, Jacob and Travis Gordon, Randy, Jr., Taylor and Matthew Ryan and Brenden and Angelo John (A.J.) Widdowfield.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nubmer of aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dr. William McGary of Wampum Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
