John J. Rosati, 86, of Silver Oaks Nursing Center, formerly of Cunningham Ave., died Wednesday morning, December 28, 2005 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born September 24, 1919 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the son of Giavonni and Theodora (Tomasetti) Rosati, they precede him in death. He was married to the former Clara ‘Claire’ (Seigeldorf) Rosati, who died January 31, 2001. Mr. Rosati was a mason at Sharon Steel retiring after 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a gunner. He was a former member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Yo-Yo Bowling League. Mr. Rosati also loved taking care of his yard and gardening.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Veronica ‘Roni’ Conti of New Castle, PA, Mrs. Nick (Bernadette) Lovaglio of New Castle, PA, and Annette Rosati of Clarion, PA, one son and daughter-in-law, John B. Rosati and Debbie of New Castle, PA, one brother, Victor ‘Bibbers’ Rosati of New Castle, PA, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Helen Donofrio, and Lizzie Rispoli.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform a military funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
