John A. 'Sonny' Palko

John A. ‘Sonny’ Palko, 85, of Haus Avenue, New Castle, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born September 3, 1928 in Arnold, PA the son of the late John and Helen Palko. He married Jane (Rees) Palko on May 8, 1950, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Palko was owner and operator of Pearson Glass for over 30 years. He then worked for Consolidated Glass and Nick's Auto Body for many years. Mr. Palko was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling and restoring old cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Leslie Gray and her husband Jerry of Port Charlotte, FL, John A. ‘Buster’ Palko and his wife Cindy of New Castle, and Becky Cook and her husband Bob ‘Pinky’ of New Castle, two sisters, Evelyn Hemphill of North Carolina and Lillian Barber of New Castle, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wyrie and Genevieve Lutz.
There are no services scheduled. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
