Malcolm L. Houk

Malcolm L. Houk, 77, of County Line Street, New Castle, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born October 27, 1936 in Mt. Jackson, Pennsylvania a son of the late Junior Jayson and B. Jean (Lowry) Houk. He married Nancy-Jane (Campbell) Houk on September 17, 1955, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Houk was owner and operator of Houk's Garage on Mulberry Street and retired after 36 years. He was a Master Mason 32nd Degree and a 3rd Ward Constable for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking and restoring old cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Douglas M. Houk and his wife Cheryl of New Castle, one daughter, Rhonda L. Curiale and her husband Nick of New Castle, one brother, Braden L. Houk and his wife Annette of New Castle, seven grandchildren, Anthony, Jayson, Justin, Robyn, and Jared Houk and Marc and Amanda Curiale, and four great grandchildren, Anthony Ryan, Tyler Houk, Jada Lynn Houk and Carmella Houk.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Jayson (R.J.) Houk.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Darren Abraham of Gardner Chapel Assembly of God will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery. On-line condolences can be sent to: www.williamrogerdecarbo.com.
