Elizabeth M. Donofrio

Elizabeth M. Donofrio, 83, of Church Hill RD, Hillsville, PA, died Thursday afternoon, September 18, 2008 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born January 4, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of the late Guy and Francis (DiCicco) Altiero. She was married to Salvador ‘Sam’ Donofrio, who died August 26, 1990. Mrs. Donofrio was a homemaker and a member of Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Ronald Donofrio and his wife Sue, and Richard Donofrio, both of Bessemer, PA, and John Donofrio, and Sam Donofrio, Jr. both of Hillsville, PA, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Altiero, and Elmer Greco, and three sisters, Virginia Shiraldi, Laura Rotz, and Eleanor Varparidis.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, September 22, 2008 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Lawrence Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Lawrence Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Jameson Hospice.
