Frederick E. Catron, Sr., 74, Harlansburg RD, Slippery Rock, died Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2008 at his home in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. He was born May 8, 1934 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late James and Helen (Barton) Catron, Sr. Mr. Catron operated his own trucking company for many years and he was a heavy machine operator at Rockwell. He was a member of Local 66 Operating Engineers of Youngstown, OH.
He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Parisi and her husband Gregory of Canfield, OH, and Sallie Catron of New Castle, PA, one son, Frederick E. Catron, Jr. and his wife Marcy of New Castle, PA, seven grandchildren, Jackie, Eric, Heather, Joey-Lynn, Bleu, Sally-Lou and Niko, and five great grandchildren, Brianna, Brenden, Brooke, Lauren and Dylan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Catron, James Robert Catron, Jr. and Warren Robert Catron, and one sister, Marie Randall.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
