Patrick L. Palladino, Sr., 89, of S. Jefferson St., New Castle, died Thursday morning, September 25, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born July 20, 1919 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Dando) Palladino. He was married to Margaret R. (Barlett) Palladino, who died on June 3, 2008. Mr. Palladino was a self-employed delivery man for DeRosa's Bakery and Demitri's Pies for many years. He was a custodian for the New Castle School System retiring after 15 years. Mr. Palladino was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the European Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars.
He is survived by three sons, Pat L. Palladino, Jr. and his wife Sylvia, Joe D. Palladino and his wife Carol, and Jim D. Palladino and his wife Debbi, all of New Castle, PA, one brother, Anthony Paladino of New Castle, PA, five sisters, Helene Rotunno, Dolores Cook, Louise McKee, JoAnn Graham, and Shirley Nader, all of New Castle, PA, four grandchildren, Kelly, Jamil, David, and Joe Palladino, Jr. and two great grandchildren, Antonio James and Joey Palladino, III.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Pallerino, Fred Pallerino, and Michael Paladino, and two sisters, Grace Kozela and Mary Jane Pallerino.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
Blessing services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:30 am at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
