Antonietta Ranucci, 96, of South Market Street, New Wilmington, formerly of Arlington Avenue, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care Home in New Wilmington. She was born September 5, 1918 in Calabria, Italy the daughter of the late Nicola and Vittoria (Frustaci) Vetere. She was married to the late Carlo Ranucci who died December 15, 1973. Mrs. Ranucci was a cook at the Eagles Club for many years. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and doing needlepoint. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Victoria Francis and her husband Vinicio, Sara Kalata, and Linda Volpe and her husband Gerald, all of New Castle, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Donald Kalata and two brothers, Domenic and Giuseppe Vetere.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Michael Ackerman of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
