Betty Jean Affagato

Betty Jean Affagato, 75, of 9 Field Ave., Besssemer, PA, died Saturday morning, January 21, 2006 at Edison Manor in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born May 23, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Orrin and Mary Jane (Thullen) Johns, they precede her in death. Mrs. Affagato married Peter F. Affagato on April 12, 1950, he survives in Bessemer. Mrs. Affagato was a homemaker and a member of the Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed traveling.

In addition to his husband she is survived by, 1 son, Randy Affagato and his wife Maripat of New Castle, PA, 1 brother, William H. Johns and his wife Tina of Boardman, OH, 2 sisters, Marjorie Schneider of Hollywood, FL, and Mrs. Richard (Carole) Van Opynen of Spring Lake, MI, 2 grandchildren, Calle Affagato and Peter J. Affagato both of New Castle, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas F. Johns.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 296 Cunningham Ave., New Castle, on Tuesday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

A blessing service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville, PA.
