Anthony Tuminello, 89, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Jackson Avenue, New Castle, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born July 14, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of the late Vincenzo and Concetta (Gambria) Tuminello. He was married to the late Marie J. (Sheldone) Tuminello who died September 26, 2012. Mr. Tuminello was a self-employed contractor for over 60 years and he loved his work and was very proud of it. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Vitus Church and the Knights of Columbus, and was the bingo caller at the Knights of Columbus bingo for many years. Mr. Tuminello was an avid golfer and bowler and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by five daughters, Sandra A. Pecano and her husband Donald of Canfield, OH, Carol A. Tuminello of New Castle, Toni Jean Pagley and her husband Tony of New Castle, Maria A. Izzo and her husband Larry of Kissimmee, FL, and Leanne M. Thomas and her husband Dan of New Castle, three sisters, Josephine Lombardo, Margaret Mills, and Anna Mae Pisciuneri, all of New Castle, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son Anthony Tuminello, two brothers, John and Albert Tuminello, and his sister Domenica DeMonaco.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 3 PM to 6 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Michael Ackerman of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
