Joan Albertini, 80, of East Friendship Street, New Castle, formerly of Morton Street, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born August 5, 1934 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (DeCerbo) Cupido. She was married to the late Carlo Albertini who died December 6, 1990. Mrs. Albertini was a handle finisher at Shenango China for 15 years. She then worked as a cashier at Butler Avenue Giant Eagle retiring after 15 years. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Anthony Albertini and his wife Lana of Poland, OH, Rose Paglia of New Castle, PA, and Carla Berick of Coitsville, OH, three grandchildren, Danielle Mastropietro, Michael Mastropietro, and Amber Albertini, and two great grandchildren, Brianna Mastropietro and Haylee Mastropietro.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Frank Cupido and one sister, Theresa Bach.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Blessing services will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery in New Castle.
