Isaac Buntman

Isaac Buntman, 86, of 933 Harrison St., New Castle, died Sunday morning, January 29, 2006 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born June 1, 1919 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the son of Alex and Sarah (Levine) Buntman, they precede him in death. He was married to Nettie Alice (Langlands) Buntman, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Buntman worked at Wean United Engineering in Youngstown, OH retiring after 30 years. He was a World War II veteran of the Army serving in the Philippines. He served with Company B Tenth Reporting Platoon of the 574th Signal Airwarning Battalion. For his service Mr. Buntman received the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with 3 Bronze Service Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Service Star. Mr. Buntman was a member of the V.F.W. and an avid motorcycle rider known as "Ike & his bike".

In addition to his wife he is survived by, 2 daughters, Judy Langley of Knoxville, TN and Linda Kettler of Avella, PA, 4 sons, Harry Buntman and Larry Buntman both of New Castle, PA, Steve Buntman of Mourovia, MD, and Jeffery Buntman of Vacaville, CA, 1 brother, Edward Buntman of West Palm Beach, FL, 1 sister, Ann Levine of Cleveland, OH, 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Hyman Buntman, his brother Hyman Buntman, his brother Samuel Buntman, and his sister Martha DeMetal.

A Jewish Orthodox Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 30, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rabbi Martin Shorr will be officiating. Burial will be in the Tifereth Israel Cemetery in New Castle. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
