Clara J. Cumo

Clara J. Cumo, 94, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, New Castle, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born September 10, 1920 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Mangine) Cumo. Miss Cumo was a switchboard operator at Jameson Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for many years. She was a long time resident of Golden Hill Nursing Home and was very active there, participating in arts and crafts, a weekly Bible study and she played the bells and piano.
She is survived by three sisters, Virginia ‘Ginger’ Simonton of New Castle, Martha M. Burrelli of New Castle, and Evelyn B. Long of Mesquite, TX, and a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony P. Cumo and Archie W. Cumo, and one sister, Irene S. Cumo.
Private services will be held at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Yergan of 1st Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
